Lindsey Forwarders currently handles bookings and documentation for ocean cargo only. If trucking from your loading facility is required, we can direct you to some carriers that can assist.
Full container loads for ocean export to foreign countries.
Currently, the majority of our business is the exportation of hay, alfalfa, and mixed feed to various parts of Asia. But we also handle other agricultural products, paper, scrap metal, and the occasional refrigerated container. We are set up to handle most goods.
Not at this time, but we may in the future.
No. Being a freight forwarder, we operate within the shipper’s (BCO) contract with the given carrier. We can assist with setting up contracts with Ocean Carriers if a shipper is not already established with a carrier. We are often able to assist with working with the carrier to improve rates when available.
Yes. Getting set up for Lindsey Forwarders to handle your shipments is a process. For our arrangement to remain efficient and meet Ocean Carrier minimums (MQC), we work with shippers who move at least two bookings per month, and at least 50 full container loads per year.
No! You pay only for what you ship.
We have a fee for the documentation set that varies based on your requirements. There is also a per container fee if we assist you with your bookings which includes:
- Booking creation
- Carrier follow-up email mitigation (carriers send A LOT of unnecessary emails!!!)
- Timely cargo cut off updates
- Assistance with determining cut offs and earliest return dates from conflicting information.
- Assistance with obtaining vessel space in times when space is limited.
- Assistance with any acute problems that arise as you are trying to utilize the Ocean Carriers’ bookings.
At times we can get DR/DR (door to door) quoted from the ocean carrier; if the carrier can offer it, we can assist with those bookings. Most of our shippers arrange their own trucking at origin and destination.
We can file your AES (US Export Customs filing).
We currently do not handle hazardous or oversized shipments, but we do have team members familiar with those types of cargos. We can work with you and the Ocean Carrier to make sure those types of shipments go smoothly. Those shipments will be priced on an individual basis, considering what aspects are involved.
Yes! We are experienced with refrigerated cargo.
We do not offer LCL or freight consolidation at this time.
Yes! We have designed a customer facing system where you can easily request new bookings and view current shipments.
